I'm from Minneapolis. You have to go to Century Plaza Downtown and apply for section 8 subsidized rent vouchers . But the waiting list is 2 years at least. I don't know> I'm homeless and single myself so I don't qualify for any of the family programs. But you could probably start at Caring and Sharing hands. Here is a list of links for you to check out. Minneapolis Public Housing Authority http://www.ci.minne apolis.mn.us/citywork/other/mp ha.html People Serving People (downtown, families only) http://minneapolis.abou t.com/od/volunteering/ig/Peopl e-Serving-People.--0Q/index.ht m Caring and sharing hands http://www.sharingandca ringhands.org/ I think your best path to take is get into an apartment at People Serving People while you apply for Section 8 from the Minneapolis public Housing Authority. With any luck you'll be in your own place sooner then later, considering the kids. Good luck. *Ray
